(TORONTO - March 13, 2020) Health is a priority sector. For francophones and francophiles, French language services are essential to remaining informed and obtaining the care they need in the language of their choice. It is important that our health care professionals have access to proper tools and trainings to offer French language services.

The coronavirus global pandemic is forcing our health authorities to react quickly to keep all Ontarians, including 622 415 francophones, informed and cared for. I will remain vigilant about the offer of services in French and I encourage you to contact our French Language Services Unit if you have a complaint about the services you obtain:

Kelly Burke
Deputy Ombudsman and French Language Services Commissioner
