FIND YOUR closed MUNICIPAL meeting investigator

In Ontario, municipalities are required to appoint an investigator specifically to look at complaints about closed meetings; this could be the Ombudsman or another investigator. This database lists all municipalities in Ontario and their designated closed-meeting investigators.

“LAS” refers to the investigator service provided by the Local Authority Services branch of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Contact the relevant municipality for contact information for other investigators.

Please note that while the Ombudsman is not the designated closed-meeting investigator for all municipalities, our Office does take
general complaints about all Ontario municipalities, except for the City of Toronto which has its own Ombudsman.
