The Ombudsman determined that a quorum of Council's November 1, 2013 meeting with Chief Day of the Serpent River First Nation violated the open meeting requirements of the Municipal Act.

The Ombudsman determined that a quorum of Council's November 1, 2013 meeting with Chief Day of the Serpent River First Nation violated the open meeting requirements of the Municipal Act, 2001 because public notice of the meeting was not provided and Council came together to discuss a matter before Council and also advanced a new proposal on how to move forward on negotiations with the First Nation regarding the Cottage Lot Program.
