Good Governance Week
IT's GOOD GOVERNANCE WEEK IN ONTARIO - OCT. 12-16
In recognition of the 200th anniversary of the modern parliamentary ombudsman, first established in Sweden in 1809, the Canadian Council of Parliamentary Ombudsman designated the week of October 12-16 to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions ombudsmen make to governance. Called "Good Governance Week" in Ontario - and recognized in the Ontario legislature - this week's events are all about how ombudsmen help improve governance, fairness and transparency.
