Since 2005, the Ontario Ombudsman’s Office, under the leadership of Ombudsman André Marin, has pioneered an innovative methodology for conducting systemic investigations.
Our Toronto course, Sharpening Your Teeth (SYT), has welcomed colleagues from: Australia, Bermuda, South Korea, Israel, Brazil, Ireland, Holland, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

SYT training has also been delivered to oversight agencies and investigative professionals in Hong Kong, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Brazil, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Northern Ireland, Thailand, Morocco, the U.S. and Bermuda, as well as at the International Ombudsman Institute headquarters in Vienna.
Past SYT participants include provincial and federal ombudsman offices from across Canada and numerous federal and provincial oversight agencies.
At present, the Toronto course is only offered in English, but Ombudsman Ontario has also delivered '
Aiguisez-vous les dents', SYT's French counterpart.
